Happy birthday to Adam

We celebrated Adam's 29th birthday on Saturday.

Is this what an early mid-life crisis looks like? Maybe Adam was just feeling left out after watching the girls attack their birthday treats. No, this is just how Adam eats while no one is watching. What a goof. Happy birthday sweetie, we love you goof and all!

Crawling? ...fine, I'll try it already

Slowly but surely.

So, there you have it ladies and gentlemen. Our little Stella is finally crawling at almost 13 months of age. Yeah Stella! She started last Monday while I was at my sister's house. I think she liked the wide open spaces. Stella has really taken off this last month in the gross motor skills category. At her 12 month doctor visit she was testing right on track with everything but gross motor (physical skills), which she was testing at about a 9 month level. So now Stella is not only crawling but she can also sometimes pull herself up to furniture. She may be slow, but at least now she is showing some progress and trying hard in the process. I thought this was never going to happen, and that she may go straight to standing and walking , which is okay, but crawling is good brain exercise. I am stoked! I know I am over a week late to post this, but poor little Stella's been sick with a persistent fever, so she hasn't even felt up to practicing her new skills. But as soon as she is herself again, I'm sure she'll just keep taking off and pulling more tricks from her sleeve. Let's cross our fingers.

The flier that started it all

We are in the process of purchasing our first home. I have been very hesitant to post anything about it, because I don't want to jinx it. It seems too good to be true. But I think everything is going to be fine. So here is a picture of the flier that started it all. It is such a cute little cottage style home built in 1948. It has been updated beautifully. There are 3 bedrooms, two bathrooms. 2,060 sq. feet (upstairs and downstairs combined.) Original hardwood floors throughout the entire upstairs except the kitchen, which has new tile. 2 fireplaces. And one thing we are very excited about is the fenced in back yard with a little playhouse for the girls. I can't believe it, we are going to have our very own yard. Okay, I better stop, I'll post more pictures when I get the chance to take some.

Happy, happy birthday baby

Stella's official birthday was on the 16th. We celebrated on two different occasions. The first was at my sister's house for a combined party, with Stella's cousin, Robi Ann. This picture was taken right before Stella started to cry. She was a little intimidated by the singing and all eyes on her.

Sweet little Robi turned 3 on the 5th. Thank you to my sister, Kristin for making the fish cake for the occasion. We had this party right before we left for San Diego so it was nice to have someone take care of the details.

The second celebration was on Stella's actual birthday, after vacation. It was a low-key event with just our little family, and a batch of pink cupcakes (by Claire's request for Stella.)

Stella really enjoyed the happy birthday song the second time around and also enjoyed attacking her cupcake. She couldn't quite finish, feeling flavor overload. She must take after her father who rarely is able to finish a piece of cake.
I can't believe it has been a year since this little pumpkin joined our family. But at the same time, I wonder how we managed without her, she is such a part of us now that it's weird to think that just over a year ago, we hadn't met yet. She really is our little ray of sunshine that we just can't get enough of.

The San Diego temple is the most beautiful in my opinion, (next to SLC temple, of course) it's breathtaking.
Sam and Erin's sealing was extraordinary, I feel very privileged to have been there.

Stella was having one of those sleep deprived days and this picture shows it. It took a lot to get her to smile. Poor little Nathan was all smiles, wanting to play, and was getting rejected.

These two sweeties are ten weeks apart and had a blast playing and getting to know each other. So much fun!

Auntie Erin gave Claire her bouquet at the end of the evening instead of throwing it. It made Claire's day, you should have seen the proud, I'm so special look on her face, it was really cute.

A couple of weeks ago, we had the opportunity to reconnect with our long lost friends, the Daines family. It was a lot of fun but went by way too quickly. They had to get back to graduate school reality, and us to the reality that they won't be joining us in L town again this summer. Last summer, they took a break from Cali., and spent the summer hangin' with us. It was a lot of fun because Jordan and I were both big and pregnant with these two bundles of joy featured here. They were born two weeks apart and we have high hopes that they will share a future of lots of laughter and yes, many tears together. Sooo cute!

We are just sitting around wishing the sun would STAY out. Seriously, one day it is in the 70's and we are outside playing at the park and the next day it is in the 40's, snowing and we are freezing. Crazy! The girls and I are getting stir crazy and hoping for more days like this one.
