Every June, Edward Jones (the company Adam works for) hosts Summer regional meeting's where everyone in his region, and their families are invited to attend. So shortly after we moved into our home, we took off for Heber City, Utah to stay at the Homestead Ranch for a fun-filled, all expenses paid, four day weekend getaway. This was only our second time attending, (last year it was at Edward Jones headquarters in St. Louis, MO) but I sure do look forward to this event where there's lots of good food that I don't have to cook or pay for, planned activities for the kids and adults, and lots of relaxing and sunshine by the pool. It is a great opportunity to meet and chat with other Edward Jones families, who are in the same livelihood situation, so to speak, as you are. During the first half of every day that we are there, Adam is in meetings with his fellow Investment Representative's (IR's). They also have a meeting for the spouses, which is kinda fun to attend. The first night they had a country western theme for dinner and after dinner activities, so here's my fam dressed up in cowboy/girl garb. I am sad that I didn't take a pic of Adam riding the mechanical Bull.
what a stud. I am just glad that he didn't sport a "Wrangler butt" because they DON'T drive me nuts! No offense to anyone who thinks otherwise.
the Pioneer Award
The last evening at regionals, they have an awards dinner that is a semi-formal, very nice dinner event with delicious food and awards presented afterwards. They provide a babysitting service to take care of your kids during this dinner, which is nice. Adam was presented with the Pioneer Award, which represents the fact that he started his Edward Jones office from scratch. I didn't realize how rare this was within the company. His region covers the area from Rexburg to Provo, roughly. There were only two IR's out of about eighty that received this award in the entire region. Usually when IR's start working for Edward Jones, they get into an existing office, with existing accounts when someone has retired, moved onto other things, passed away, etc. Adam had to start working out of our tiny, two bedroom Apt. and work his way up to earning his office. It was a lot of hard work for him but has definitely paid off. I am so proud of my sweet husband and the hard work he puts in for our family. We are so blessed to be a part of such an amazing, highly reputable company that actually cares about its employees and their families. Thank you Edward Jones.

Looks like such a fun little trip. you know you've got a good company when you treat you so right!
This sounds like a wonderful trip! And I love the cowboy/girl attire! What a fun theme! I didn't know Adam ever sported Wrangler's--but I'm right there with the same opinion as you. Glad to see that he's doing so well. What a blessing for your family that he is willing to work so hard and sacrifice so much to take care of you and bless your lives! He sounds like an amazing husband and father!
