2 + weeks

This is how Harper "measured up" at her 2 week doctor visit:
weight: 6 lbs 8 oz (10th percentile)
height: 19 1/2 inches (10th percentile)
head circumference: 33.3 cm (5th percentile)

So, as you can see, she had not quite regained her birth weight. Our doctor said she would feel better if we came back for a "weigh in" just to make sure she was gaining the proper weight that she needed.
Ten days later, we took Harper back and she was up to 7 lbs 2 oz. Yay!
It just seems crazy that at almost 3 weeks of age, Harper still didn't weigh as much as Claire & Stella did at birth.

That is a little raspberry colored birthmark on Harper's toe.
So cute, and what a perfect place to have a birthmark!

Claire's note

Claire wrote this note about Harper and wanted to tape it to her crib for everyone to see.
It is very informative. I just love it.

Harper's photo shoot

My friend, Julie Kirby (Simply You Photo) took these pictures for me.
I think she did an awesome job!
I never did get professional pics of Claire & Stella within their first two weeks of life, and I really wish that I had. So I really wanted to with Harper.

kids in a basket

Stella decided she wanted to take her nap in this basket... and she really did.

I use to think Stella was sooo small.

Stella doesn't seem so small anymore... sniff.

Harper, a week 1/2.

Harper's first day home

We brought Harper home on the 19th of February. She weighed in at only 6 lbs. 2 oz. when she was released from the hospital.

The car seat looks massive when you put the tiny little babe inside.
I know this won't last long, pretty soon her head will be reaching the top and her little legs will dangle over the end. Sniff.

Harper had a little bit of jaundice when she came home (you can tell by the yellow in her skin). We had to take her back to the hospital twice & have her blood tested to make sure her bilirubin levels remained under control.
We lucked out! She never had to go under the lights. Yay!!

Deserving of its own post

This is what Stella looked like while peering through the window, in the hospital at her new baby sister. I could not decide which pic to post out of the bunch, because all of them just crack me up. So, here's the sequence of pictures. I love how Adam gets closer to the window with each pic taken. She looks like a little rag muffin. The messy face adds a lovely touch, don't you think?

What can I say, she's special.
Silly girl!

Harper Ann

This is me at about 6 am on Wednesday, Feb. 17.
A little less than 2 hrs. before giving birth to our beautiful baby girl, Harper.

She arrived at 7:57 am, weighing in at 6 lbs. 10.5 oz. (as you can see), & 19 inches long.
My smallest baby thus far.

Look at those lips!
Adam kept saying "she has big lips". We're not use to that in our family, so a slightly full lower lip was very noticeable.

I predict that she will be blonde because her eyebrows and eyelashes are very light. Claire and Stella were both born with darker, very defined eyebrows.
Right now her hair is a light brown color. She has the mullet thing going on already, with longer & more hair in the back.
Her eyes seem to be a lighter blue than her sisters' were at birth. I think they may end up either green or blue, we'll see.

Claire & Stella absolutely adore her! (Sometimes a little too much) ;).
Things are going really good so far. Harper has been a sweet, mild mannered & relatively easy baby. Knock the wood!

Valentines day

The girls each received a rose from their daddy.
They LOVED them.

Another thing that they were super excited about.... new bunk beds!
(as seen in the background.)

This is what I looked like on Valentines day.
Three days before my c-section.

Resolutions

Whew! So, one of my New Year's resolutions was to get caught up on this little bloggy blog of mine, and I'm oh so close. I will kick myself if I ever let myself get that far behind again!
Thanks for being patient. I had to get that done, more so, for myself. I really don't like to post events out of order.
One event that took place the beginning of the new year was..... Stella was weaned from the binky! (Thanks to Adam.) We didn't take any pictures to document this, darn it.
First, Adam decided to tie her binky to the side of her bed so she could only partake of it there.
(don't worry, the string was not long enough to pose any hazard.)
After about 3 weeks, the binky fairy came, took the pacifier away and left Stella some cash to buy herself something special. She chose a mermaid with a seahorse to play with in the bathtub.
I have to say, I always let myself get so worried before changes like these, and they always end up being way easier than anticipated. Stella was really sad for only about a day and a half.
Anyway, stay tuned. I only have a few more posts before I am all caught up, yay!
